The island (2.4ha) in Daugava river and the land on the bank of Daugava river (1.6ha) right opposite
to the island is located on the side of the Riga - Daugavpils highway (A6), in Klintaine parish, between
Koknese and Plavinas in Latvia. GPS coordinates: 56°35`26.5`N 25°38`32.8`E

Olinkalns is a non-flooding island in Daugava river. The island has not flooded and has not been subject
to flooding in the last 100 years. The water level in Daugava river is being regulated by Plavinas Hydroelectric
power plant which is more than 30km away from the island.

The island is a known and popular tourist attraction nowadays.
It has been included in the routes of tourist ferries and boats, there are recreational and entertainment
seasonal events happening regularly on the island. It is an excellent fishing and recreation place, here
one can catch the mighty catfish!
